 Write up from rehearsal

Today we started off with going through London dungeon to warm us up a bit but the timing was a bit slow then what we normally play so we went through it again at normal speed and I tried out distortion pedal Joel gave me to use and I used it on the riff because that's where it sounds best .

Then we went through square hammer because we wanted too but also I wanted to try out the pedal as the main reason we had the pedal out was for the solo on square hammer to give it more sound and make it louder which it did .

We then did a run through pet semartary and I also tried out the pedal on the starting riff of that which sounded good and then we haven't rehearsed join me in death since Friday so we said lets go over that and we ran through it but there were some mistakes in the second chorus and interlude so we went over that part we weren't playing a for as long as we should of so Joel went over it on the bass to show us again so then instead of starting from the whole song again we just started from the second chorus it went a bit better and we did it from the second chorus a few times so we could correct and remember that part and then we did it from the start again .

Then we had our break and then after break we talked about the new songs which now is for whom the bells troll and to live is to die both by Metallica and talked about were we all were with them i knew the intro riff and the second riff but after that wasn't really sure so we listened to it before we played it and then went over each riff individually so the first riff wasn't that hard to play so that part was already done but the second riff I found a bit fast so instead of playing it as power chords I played it as single notes and found that easier . We had this written down on a white board from Tuesday so we went to get that from310 so we could look at it and the third riff of the song is a lead line so Lennon said he would give that ago so then chords are being played under neath that so we had to figure them out which was e power chord , g power chord ,c power chord and a power chord .

 So I ran through that and the timing of that and then we then put it altogether then we said should we done a run through of it all from what we have got so far so we did but we had problems with knowing when to go into the second riff so we figured that part out guitars play it 8 times with the bass and then the bass goes into the second with does that 4 times then the guitars joined in and we went over it again Joel said he would count it and talk us when to change and he did so we got it right this time and then we took a bit of break and then we wanted to do it again but Alfie didn't want to do it anymore so he took some time out and me ,Lennon and dan went over it together twice and that was everything we have done today.

What went well?

Even though we made mistake on the second chirus and interlude part other then that the song has been going good and after we fixed that part it ran through smoothly I think and the other songs are good and ready to go . we got some of the for whom the bells troll done so that makes me feel a bit better as I like to do some of it at college and some at home .

What could be improved ?

Well for me it would be turning off and on the pedal with the riffs because before I didn't have to mess with anything but now when I have riffs in songs like pet semartary i am playing the riff throughout the entire song and square hammer and London dungeon so its getting that change a bit smoother as i had to stop playing for a few seconds to get the pedal off so I just need to be careful on that .
