 Write up from todays rehearsal 

12/5/23

Today we run through the set list of the normal songs we didn't do it in order we mixed it up bit played London dungeon ,join me in death ,square hammer ,pet semartary , heaven and hell they all went good tried out the pedal on the solo and the riffs of the songs . 

The pedal I used was a distortion one Joel gave me I didn't get a photo of it but i will next time I used it mainly on the riffs of every song and then i used all the way through my hero when we had decided to do the close to the original version

We then said we should rehearse my hero by the foo fighters as Dan wanted too try the drums out on it so we said should we do the acoustic version of it or the original one so we first tried out the acoustic version to see how it sounds but without the bass and drums sounded a bit empty so we added that into the acoustic version we then tried it out without it being acoustic we then played version close to the original with the gain on and we decided that the version closer to the original  was better . We were having some problems after the second chorus we weren't playing the middle eight right so we had to sort that out and went round it a few times .

Then we showed it  to Phil he said it was good . Dan wanted to know how the drums went in it so we listened to it through the pa and then there was some more lead in it so I decided to add that in since we were no longer doing the acoustic version so we then played it through with the now added lead bits . The ending had a few mistakes in it where we needed dan to do something with the drums when we end on the riff . So we went through that a few times it got a bit better but still needs bit of work just practice really .

We then talked about the new song for whom the bells troll we know the intro but we needed to know how many times we play it which was 8 times with the bass and then the bass plays the second riff 4 times then we play it and then the lead part comes in and went over the chords I play for that and the timing off them and also went over a new part the chorus riff we had a listen to the song and it is mainly those 3 riffs we were playing but there's is things in-between also . But its figuring out how many times everything is played so we now where and when the changes are.

What went well?

Hero went well it had a few mistakes but apart from that after a few run throughs it got better the other songs are sounding good and are ready to go and we decided to add my hero at the end and do the version which is closer to the original which I think sounds better then the acoustic version .

From what we have so far of whom the bells troll it sounds good and join me in death sounds good too and didn't take too much time to learn which was good because we only have a short amount of time left .

What could be improved ?

After the first chorus the bridge riff happens then it all stops and I do a lead part so its just timing that part right and the ending of the song where we finish with the riff that and the drums need to be together. So it just needs more practice with the drums .

For whom the bells needs working on mainly because we only have 3 riffs done so far so we need to get a bit more structure for that one otherwise it won't be done in time .

We did a bit more rehearsing in the afternoon lesson we showed Sandra join me in death by him and my hero and she videoed them for us which I will put the videos of them up later and then me and Lennon went over for whom the bells troll we tried to go over the parts we know.

 But I got losted as I don't know the song that well and he knows it better then I do because I don't listen to it so we tried to rehearse what we could of it we did it with Dan and Alfie but then had enough of the song so then me and Lennon just tried to do it together we also did another run through if join me in death because Dan I think his name is from group a decided to come in and join us so we showed him the song and that was mainly it .
