write up on production which talks about the horror show from 28/2/23

28/2/23 

Today we talked about the new gig/show in May. So, Rob asked us if we know what songs we are doing yet or have we picked any we discuss some with Andy yesterday. So, we talked about apart from there being just songs we want to tell a story we want soundtracks of creepy horror sounds which I think we are going explore and make in Fridays afternoons lesson more.

So Rob showed us this sound track called psycho I think it was and we listened to it and discuss things about it so there was violins and cellos and the violins were playing a nice sound and the cellos were striking and sound not so nice and it was going higher and lower in pitch and descending .

Then we looked at exorcist I think it was and that violins as-well and it had a piano in that was going lower and higher in pitch too but the piano is playing the nice sounds and the violin is playing the not so nice sounds . Rob showed us a track with a girl talking creepily and we discuss it because children we see as happy, and their laughs are not creepy but it’s actually a psychologically reason for what when you see the girl laughing and talking in this creepy way creepy and scary.

It is because our mind tells us we are safe, and it is not real it's just made up so consciously or subconsciously we it's just a mind telling us that creepy because it's been done it that way because its horror film. Harvey suggested we hang dead animals around the venue which was a bit too extreme and I think the environment health and safety would not be happy with that nor would vegans and just kids probably in general .So we could do a song and while we are changing over we could have creepy back ground music / sounds and images at the back we song want it to look too much like Halloween because that’s not the theme we were going for so hanging cob webs and fake spiders up would not fit in to the theme because that’s too much to do with Halloween type stuff .

So, we just looked at different soundtracks from horror movies and talked a bit about them. we also looked at scream and the how the camera is shake like she is being followed also we looked at Halloween and listen to how the music is played to get some ideas. If we have any more suggestions or thoughts, then we can tell Rob and discuss it in Thursday's mornings lesson.
